The 2022 Sustaining New Mexico Fund application is now closed.

The New Mexico Foundation staff and board of directors created the Sustaining New Mexico Fund in 2022 to support sustainability of nonprofits throughout the state.  This fund will grant to organizations that align with the Foundation’s priority fields of interest: community resilience, educational opportunities, environmental adaptability, healthy communities, and rural infrastructure. The mission of the fund is to strengthen New Mexico communities by promoting social equity and supporting self-sufficiency to improve the quality of life for all New Mexicans.

Each year, the Sustaining New Mexico Fund will award program or general operating grants to New Mexico nonprofit organizations that demonstrate long-term goals and impact. This year, the Foundation will award approximately $100,000. Applicants must be 501(c)(3) nonprofits in good standing with the IRS or must have a fiscal sponsor that is a 501(c)(3).


Organizations notified: mid-July 2022
Grant checks mailed: end of July 2022
Grant year begins: August 1, 2022
