Remembering Linda Milbourn
The New Mexico Foundation (NMF) wishes to remember and honor our former President and CEO, Linda Milbourn. Linda passed away on July 13, 2019. The Foundation has established the Linda Milbourn Memorial Garden at its current location, a location that Linda helped the Foundation secure. In the garden is a beautiful cedar bench and plaque dedicated to Linda.
Linda served as Director of the Fiscal Sponsorship program, a program unique to NMF, and critical to many New Mexico nonprofits. Linda was integral to launching many community developed projects through fiscal sponsorship support.
In 2018 Linda became the Foundation’s President and CEO. Linda’s steady leadership has left a lasting impact on the organization NMF is today, not least because she led the Foundation to purchase its own office building as its permanent home.
Linda’s spirit will live on through her kindness, generosity, and the special impact she had not only at the Foundation but through the many organizations throughout New Mexico that she and NMF nurtured and tended.
Please visit Linda’s Memorial Garden. Take a moment and enjoy sitting on the bench – it is a beautiful way to see Linda’s favorite view of the mountains. The public is invited to bring a bulb to plant in her garden now and in the coming months. Linda was an avid gardener, and we look forward to the Spring when we are able to celebrate Linda’s love of gardening and new growth.
