To steward resources, build partnerships, and create opportunities that transform lives and communities throughout New Mexico.

We envision a state where every New Mexico community has access to resources that support their ability to enjoy a better quality of life.  Through new and established partnerships with leaders in the communities we serve, we support effective strategies to address statewide issues together.

The Foundation is committed to growing as a knowledge-based and asset-building organization that ensures high impact and measurable outcomes for the state of New Mexico.

We encourage local leadership, collaboration and innovation in focusing on important matters that most impact community needs and priorities, particularly in relation to our most vulnerable community members. We bring our experience in philanthropy and understanding of New Mexico’s cultural diversity to help communities achieve their goals. Through these partnerships, we award grants to develop new initiatives or support existing programs.

Every year NMF provides grants and scholarships to positively impact hundreds of New Mexico nonprofits, communities, tribes, and students. The projects we support vary widely, but in each, our goal is the same: to Strengthen Communities together in New Mexico.

Our Fields of Interest are:  Rural infrastructure, Community Resilience, Healthy Communities, Education Opportunities, and Environmental Adaptability. These fields of interest represent priority areas for which NMF holds existing endowments that fund community-advised grant cycles:  Northeastern Regional Community, Health FOI Endowment, Northeastern Regional Community Unrestricted FOI Endowment, College Success FOI Fund, Chama Children’s Fund, and Native American Preparatory Scholars Endowment.

Just one action―a donation, a helping hand, an idea that inspires a meaningful result―creates change that can impact an individual, a family, a community, an entire state.  Take action now and donate to help us Strengthen Communities together in New Mexico.
