The 2023 Aldo Leopold Charter School scholarship application will open January 5, 2023.
Deadline to apply: April 4, 2023, 5 pm. See below for instructions.
Congratulations to ALCS graduate Sylvia Myers, who is the 2022 scholarship recipient.
Aldo Leopold Charter School’s Ella, Michael, and Ella Memorial Scholarship was established in loving memory of the Aldo Leopold Charter School students Ella Kirk, Michael Mahl and Ella Myers who lost their lives in a small airplane accident in May of 2014. Their dedication to environmental studies, music and the arts, and their level of community involvement and civic engagement serves as an inspiration to all.
This memorial scholarship fund will help continue to keep Ella, Michael and Ella in our hearts and minds by providing Aldo Leopold Charter School graduates the opportunity to reach their own potential in the manner we so admired in each of these three students. The mission of the scholarship is to inspire young people to follow their passion for the environment, arts, music and community involvement, and to support young people as they begin post-secondary studies.
One recipient for the scholarship is selected annually.
To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must be current Aldo Leopold High School graduating seniors; plan to enroll full-time in college, community college, trade, or vocational school in fall 2023; have maintained a 3.0 cumulative GPA throughout high school; have a strong commitment to community involvement; and have an interest in music, arts, environmental science, and/or community sustainability.
