Vecino, Neighbor Helping Neighbor Fund – Part 1

NORTHERN DINE COVID-19 RELIEF FUND

The Vecino Fund supported the Northern Diné COVID-19 Relief Effort with an emergency assistance grant to purchase healthy food, wood, livestock feed, sufficient water for drinking and frequent hand washing, water for livestock, propane refills and also payment for internet to assist families with home education for children. Grant assistance also helped pay for gas so that volunteers could make home deliveries to Navajo communities in the Shiprock chapter area of San Juan county.“Thank you for the Vecino grant, we will definitely use the funds for the greatest possible impact. HIDALGO COUNTY FOOD PANTRY

Through a Vecino Neighbor-Helping-Neighbor grant, the Hidalgo County Food Pantry was able to order three palettes of frozen food and shelf life products through the Roadrunner food bank. These items were distributed to families, seniors, adult individuals and children under 18 in May.
